Russian football falls into doping scandal and FIFA chairman is involved in the interest chain

In May 2016 in Moscow, in the opinion of Miguel Maduro, he thought he must have gotten a dream job. During that period, FIFA's internal chaos and corruption scandals cropped up. Some departments The manager was removed from office. It was during this period that Maduro joined in a timely manner. It was indeed his dream job. This work made Maduro excited.

Being the chairman of the governing body of the FIFA Independent Agency has also allowed him to complete his long-cherished wish. In his life he has always loved two things: football and law. As a Portuguese judge, scholar, and politician, Maduro once taught at Yale University for a long time, and this job seems to suit him very well. FIFA at that time needed radical changes.

When the new FIFA president promised him unlimited autonomy from Maduro, Maduro readily accepted the work. "He looks very hard," Maduro said. "In my mind he (Ivan Tino) is not a type of corrupt person."

But the impression is short-lived.

Maduro said "In the past few months, Ivanovich has been urging him to work out a handbook for the rules of FIFA, and he wants me to help him. Because Fan Tinno looks very desperate, these despair all come from Russia. Because Russia is the host country for the 2018 World Cup."

Since 2009, Vitaly Mutko, a member of the Executive Committee of FIFA, has been seeking re-election, but FIFA has always had thoughts about his re-election. They believe that “First, Muteco has just been promoted to The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, while FIFA has stipulated that government officials are not allowed to serve on the Executive Committee. Second, Russia has had an outbreak of sports stimulants throughout the country. It is reported that Muteco also participated in them, including the number of Ten Russian football players take stimulants."

According to Maduro and his colleagues, Muteko’s re-election has no hope at all, but as Fantineau and the other two senior officials feel panicked about his inability to re-election, they have to Maduro. There is an exception to the requirement that Muteko be re-elected, otherwise Maduro will lose his job.

Maduro was stunned. Did Van Tino really want to go this way? Has the reformed FIFA carried out its work in this way? What exactly is it for? Is it against Russia?

In the past year, ESPN's interview team traveled to Russia and several other countries to interview dozens of individuals, from Russian sports officials to domestic commentators, from President Putin to U.S. intelligence officers. The team also reviewed more than 1,500 pages. The Russian World Cup bid documents and doping scandals that have contaminated the country’s entire sport.

The World Cup was launched in 11 cities in Russia. As the opening time approached, FIFA and other sports management agencies repeatedly inquired and inspected Russia’s preparations, despite previous evidence that the country had widely used stimulants. Situation and bribery of allegations of sports officials, but after years of unremitting efforts, Russia is recovering from the bottom.

Michael Morrel said: "For Russians, they care about the role of their country in the world. Sports is a very important one. Putin will do its best to manipulate FIFA. For anyone It is not surprising to say that." Morrel had spent 30 years as an analyst at the CIA.

In the former Soviet era, sports had received a great deal of attention. They viewed sports performance as a symbol of national dignity. After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, Russia inherited this tradition and Putin understood the strength and value of sports. During the period of the Soviet Union, they have been the gold medallists of the Olympic Games. Since 1952, they have participated in nine Olympic Games in succession. They have topped the gold medal list six times and ranked second in three times. Since 1956, the Soviet Union has been in the Winter Olympics. The conference also had a similar advantage. Seven times, it ranked first in the gold medal standings, and the remaining two ranked second.

After the disintegration of the former Soviet Union, Russia’s performance at the Olympic Games fell in a free fall. In the subsequent Olympic Games, they never reached the top of the gold medal standing list, and their grades have deteriorated year after year. The same is true at the Winter Olympics. In the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Russia was ranked 11th in the gold medal table with only three gold medals, which is less than the Netherlands and Austria.

“The Vancouver Winter Olympics is undoubtedly the lowest point of Russian sports. The sport of the entire country has collapsed,” Muteko said. “It was not until 2006 that Russia’s sports seemed to have eased. During 2000, We lack food because we started a war in Chechnya, so the sport was abandoned."

By 2007, Putin began to emphasize sports competition again. He personally lobbied the International Olympic Committee to hold the Sochi Winter Olympics. A year later, he appointed long-term political ally Muteko as Minister of Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy.

Since then, Muteko has gradually become the protagonist of the Russian sports scene. His power and influence will increase with the rise of Putin in the next decade, especially in football. In 2005 he was elected chairman of the Russian Football Federation and in 2009 he was selected as a member of the FIFA Executive Committee.

At that time, he talked about FIFA in Russia and will discuss the issue of Russia's bid to host the World Cup in 2018. He needs to provide support for President Putin. Muteco said: "Some Western media once said that we only hold the World Cup on a whim, only for political tasks, but this is not the case. This is not what we have done. We want to develop our country through these projects."

Whatever the broader goal, Muteko has a clear mandate: Russia will rise again and there will be no more losses.

Four years after the Vancouver Winter Olympics, Russia successfully hosted the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. They won 13 gold medals, 11 silver medals and 9 bronze medals, ranking high on the gold medal and medal charts. Muteko told reporters, "When you start to work together, they will all work together. The Sochi Winter Olympics shows that we are on the right path. We will not deviate from this path."

But within a few months, deep investigations gradually surfaced and everything was false.

Richard McLaren was hired by the World Anti-Doping Agency. In his investigation, Muteko discovered that he had contacted the head of the Russian anti-doping laboratory several times before the Sochi Winter Olympics and developed corresponding tamper. The results of the urine test, which involved more than 1,000 athletes in more than 30 sports, was shocked by the exposure of the stimulant scandal. In football, he was also accused of personally concealing the illegal use of stimulants by Russian soccer players. The British "Sunday Post" reported that "McLaren has found 34 football players who may be related to doping."

When McLaren and his team conducted an investigation, their computers continued to suffer from the attacks of Russian hackers, and they continued to be hostile, even more threatening messages, when asked about him. When dealing with these threats, McLaren said, "When you are trying to overcome a certain problem, you will not easily abandon them, but pay more attention to the trend."

When McLaren announced his findings in the summer of 2016, when the newly appointed FIFA president, Ivan Finno, promised that “the relevant personnel will be organized to study these results, Russia will likely face the World Cup. 'Necessary actions and sanctions'".

Nine months later, McLaren’s phone rang. He said he had received a call from FIFA. They invited McLaren to Zurich to meet and McLaren showed all his findings and said Will fully cooperate with FIFA's investigation activities, but FIFA has never followed this matter. Last two years after the McLaren report was issued, FIFA announced that there is not enough evidence The Russian football team has taken illicit drugs.

"It surprised me," McLaren said.

After the stimulant scandal erupted, Putin promoted Muteko as a deputy prime minister. Mutko denied that he had helped Russian athletes use stimulants. He had never engaged in related matters.

Miguel Maduro is a serious man. His mission is serious. This time, he wants to believe in Vantino.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup was the first World Cup after Vaticano took office. He also tried to prove to Fifa members that he was clearing the chaos. In May 2016, a few months after he was elected chairman, in Mexico City. At the FIFA Congress, he addressed officials and promised to fight corruption, eliminate bribery, and clean up the voting environment. He said, “I hereby formally announce to you that the FIFA crisis is over.”

"Infantino told me that he will commit to these reforms and introduce different philosophy and different practices in FIFA and football," Maduro told ESPN's interview team.

In the first few months, Maduro and his committee had no problems with Ivantino, but then Muteko was submitted to the Executive Committee for re-election, despite McLaren’s doping of Russian stimulants. A lot of in-depth coverage, but FIFA seems to be interested in protecting the Russian sports minister, Maduro said he went to find Fan Tino, and has already told the chairman that Muteko is not eligible for election.

Infino said to Maduro that "He (Mutko) is ready to talk to you and explain that he did not participate in any (doping) thing."

Maduro responded, "Don't you know that the International Olympic Committee is investigating him?"

Infinito said "What you will see, the International Olympic Committee will never have anything to do."

In the following period, Maduro insisted on his opinion, but Maduro was fired a year after Infantino made a commitment in Mexico City.

He not only dismissed Maduro, but also dismissed the officials of the FIFA Ethics Committee. According to reports, due to the fact that Vetino accepted the benefits provided by the Russian side, he once had a late night meeting with Putin in Moscow and then flew to Qatar on a plane arranged by the Russian Gas Company. Gazprom is the official partner of FIFA. One of the partners is also the main sponsor of the World Cup and Champions League.

One other thing was that according to the London Daily Mail, someone had given Fantino a private jet to handle his private affairs. He went to the Vatican to visit the Pope. This plane was Usmanov. He is also an ally of Putin and owns 30% of the Arsenal Club. He is also a member of the Russia World Cup Organizing Committee and President of the International Fencing Federation.

It was undoubtedly caused by these exposures that caused some waves, but the Ethics Committee announced in a few weeks that “after several weeks of ‘relentless’ investigations, it was discovered that Mr. Fantinuo did not violate FIFA’s code of ethics”.

Mutko’s participation in the Executive Committee’s campaign has two purposes. First, with the World Cup coming to Russia, Vandino needs to go all out to appease the host country. Second, because the executive committee has considerable influence, Russia hopes to Reserved seats.

In the end, Russia retained its status. Although Muteko was disqualified before the election, the most promising Icelandic former football association chairman, Sylser Taysson, withdrew from the election. Eventually, the CEO of the Russian World Cup Organizing Committee Luo Jin took up the position of Sauersson, and was successfully elected as a member of the Executive Committee.

Solstaizon told ESPN interview team that his decision had nothing to do with the situation in Russia. No one has ever asked me to withdraw from the election.

In December 2017, Infantino and Muteko attended the press conference held in Moscow. The theme of the conference should focus on the organization of the World Cup. However, Muteko was faced with a lot of doping problems. The troubled, the International Olympic Committee is preparing to make a decision on whether to prohibit Russia from participating in the Korean Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, and Mutterko's statement is shameless.

He said: "Now, everyone is going down to Russia because we are a great sports country. We don't manipulate anything. We can't let our players take stimulants."

When asked how the IOC's measures affected FIFA’s practices in Russia and the World Cup, Vandino answered that “the answer is simple and has no impact. We are talking here about the World Cup instead of the Olympics.”

Four days later, the International Olympic Committee imposed a life-long ban on Muteko, and Russia was also banned from participating in the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. Athletes who meet the conditions will be invited as "Olympic athletes from Russia". Nominally participate in individual or collective projects. No Russian flag and national anthem will appear in any ceremony.

Last month, a few weeks before the start of the World Cup, there was a new wave of accusations: German television network ARD reported that FIFA analyzed a series of urine samples from several Russian players and found that the problem of stimulants still exists. . The report further accused Muteko of instructing the Russian anti-doping agency to destroy some key samples. ARD quoted an unidentified FIFA insider as saying that “Vinstantino did not want to trouble the Russians”.

Obviously, Fantinuo wanted to protect Russia’s interests and did not want to offend Russia’s sponsors.

Two days later, FIFA issued a statement saying that the Russian team is very clean. The statement said: "There is no evidence that they violated the anti-doping rules."

Sports is far more than it can carry, and Mutke, to some extent, is the cannon fodder of more ambitious people. The stimulant scandal is far from over. Everything will be back on track after the World Cup. Putin’s grand plan is still continuing. He wants to use sports to reshape the image of a big country. In an interview last year, Putin suggested that Russia may host the Summer Olympics and complete the world’s three major sporting events in succession. His goal will be 2032. Summer Games.

Angel official publicized the deviation did not mean to Otani surgery

The news that the genius boy Dagu Xiangping has entered the injury list affects the hearts of fans on both sides of the Pacific. Many media and commentators believe that given that Otani’s elbow ulnar ligament is a secondary injury, I’m afraid that I could not escape TJ surgery. For example, on Sunday, local time, ESPN reporter Pedro Gomez proposed that Otani “may” accept elbow surgery in the influential Sports Center. He will therefore be reimbursed for the season and will not be able to pitch for at least 2019. However, considering that the beater's rehabilitation progress is faster than the pitcher, Otani's timetable for attack should be shorter.

This view is certainly not groundless. The so-called secondary injury refers to the situation where the ligament is not completely torn, between the slightly worn primary injury and the completely torn tertiary injury. Therefore, decisive surgery can be selected, and conservative treatment can also be selected. New York Yankee's Tanaka had once had a tear in her ligament. She received high-intensity plasma injections and rest and rehabilitation to avoid surgery. She has a stable arm. Former metropolitan ace pitcher, "dark knight" Matt Harvey underwent TJ surgery under the same circumstances, and returned to lead the team into the 2015 World Series after 2 years.

However, the angels may have a bit of an opinion about the publicity of the rain that the media have seen. The general manager Billy Eppler told Ken Rosenthal, a famous journalist and ball commentator: “There is no new change in the diagnosis of Otani. Whether it is the team trainer or the medical team who have not recommended any surgery, even the possibility has not been considered." Coach Mike Sosa also said that he has never mentioned anything about surgery with the medical team.

According to Jon Paul Morosi, a reporter of the major league official website, the angels still have optimistic expectations for the return of Otani this season. Even if they can't insist on continuing, they can at least play as pure hitters.

Otani was put on the injury list last Friday and received injections of platelet rich plasma (PRP) and stem cells. Angels' official statement will re-evaluate Otani's injury after three weeks, when the team may decide the ultimate treatment plan for Japanese superstars.

When Otani joined the Angels, he had a physical examination. At that time, the team knew that Otani's elbow ligament was slightly torn, but any pitcher at the age of 23 would inevitably suffer from ligament wear, so the team had thought that Otani could play normally. . Before coming to the United States, Otani had also been treated with PRP in Japan.

Angelic football star Mike Trout also cares about the situation of Otani. He said in an interview on Saturday: “We are disappointed. This is a difficult setback for the team. Obviously, Otani can both shoot and fight, so Without him, it is a double loss. To survive in this sport, the most important and the most difficult thing to do is to stay healthy."

Up to now, Otani left 4 wins and 1 defeat on the pitcher's mound. With 3.10's self-blame rate, he took 69 shots in the 49.1 game. As a hitter, he fired 6 homers in 129 strikes with an attack index of 0.907. The United States West Division is fiercely competitive this year. The defending champions astronauts and aggressive sailors are currently leading the angels in the number of wins. Whether it is the Angels team or the fans, there is no doubt that Otani can return to the stadium to show his “two-pass” skills as soon as possible. .

This is likely to become the successor of the NFL draft pick Baker Mayfield's quarterback position after leaving school is facing another important choice that is likely to affect the future of life.

According to the MLB draft rules, Murray could get a contract of approximately $4.76 million after being selected for the ninth place. Before the draft Murray also showed that if there is sufficient signing bonus, he will be willing to complete the signing of his team. According to the NCAA rules, the NCAA allows college athletes to enter professional league games and accept signing bonuses while retaining their status as amateur players on football. In other words, Murray can choose to stay with the University of Oklahoma and play football while signing up with the sportsman. He can also retain his eligibility for scholarships at the school. The last rugby baseball amphibious star who benefited from this rule was the quarterback Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks. Murray needs to decide before July 13 whether he will sign a contract with his Oakland sportsman.

Keller Murray began "amphibious" rugby and baseball in high school and Murray left a 3,386 high school football career with 10,386 yards passing 117 passing touchdowns and 69 rushing touchdowns. . Murray won the "5-star quarterback" rating for his high-performance performance in the high school arena. However, his height of 1 meter 78 became his greatest weakness, but his flexible pace and arm strength and his passing in pockets and pockets left a deep impression on scouts. So in 2015 when he graduated from high school, Murray chose to follow his father's footsteps and chose to enter Texas A&M University (his father Kevin Murray was a quarterback for the 1983-1986 Ridder Agro-industrialists, and also in 1983. The MLB draft was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers. Before he entered Texas A&M University Kevin Murray played in the minor league's rookie league for a season), but in the 2015 season Kyle Murray's main quarterback for Texas farmers The competition lost to quarterback Aaron (Kyle Allen) who signed the Panthers as an undrafted rookie this year. Kyle Murray, who lacked the chance to play, eventually chose to transfer to Oklahoma State University in 2015. In 2017, Murray became a substitute for Mayfield after the rules required him to spend the 2016 season when he could not play.

In the 2017 season, Murray took over as a substitute to replace Mayfield. But after Mayfield was put on the bench by Kansas University in November for abusing his opponent, Murray made his debut as the first quarterback at the University of Oklahoma on November 25th. In the first offensive in Oklahoma, Murray completed a 66-yard run with the option to kick the team's next 28-point victory. And Murray's performance in the limited game time and his game style make the outside world very optimistic about the 20-year-old quarterback to become Mayfield's successor after leaving school. His passing efficiency and accuracy of pass made school scouts think that he would connect seamlessly with Oklahoma coach Lin Riley's Air Raid system. The rise of Mayfield's top pick in this year’s NFL draft pick also has a lot to do with Riley’s arrival in Oklahoma City in 2015 as an offensive coach. Although Murray's height of 1 meter 78 makes scouts think his NFL prospects are very uncertain, together with Murray still does not play a full season of university football as the main character. But Mayfield said in an interview earlier: "Murray can break all my records. He can become a football star in the NCAA."

Whether or not this amphibious college star will sign up for a professional baseball game with the Oakland Athletics, he will play for the University of Oklahoma as a quarterback in the 2018 season.

Trump withdraws his invitation to invite the NFL championship to the White House

The White House announced that it will not follow the practice of previous years to invite members of the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles to the White House to accept the president and participate in related celebrations.

The US President Donald Trump made the following statement: “The Philadelphia Eagles cannot ensure that they can all participate in the celebrations scheduled to be held at the White House tomorrow, because some of them are in conflict with the President’s opinion on the national anthem issue. The players should stand all the way while the national anthem ceremony is taking place, and place their hands on the left chest to express respect for the great soldiers and people of our country. The eagle wants to send only a small number of people to represent the team, which is about to participate in the The 1,000 fans at the ceremony are unfair. These fans will still be invited to the White House to participate in the celebration because they are proud of the country and respect the soldiers who fought for their defense and are willing to sing our voices loudly and proudly. The national anthem. I will attend the ceremony on time at 3 pm and join the U.S. Marine Corps band and the U.S. Army Choir to praise our country.”

This incident happened suddenly. Hawks' head coach Doug Padson also stated on May 22 that the eagle will be invited to the White House. However, this is not the first time that Trump has made such a decision. As early as September last year, he was hesitant to accept the invitation from the Golden State Warriors. Trump directly withdrew their invitation to them. .

After the official statement was announced, Trump once again stated on his personal tweet: "Since only a small number of players decided to accept the invitation, we cancelled the event." He also did not forget to mention that the recent time has made a lot of noises. The NFL national anthem protests: “When the national anthem rang, the players stayed in the locker room or on one knee. This is a great disrespect for the country!”

Mike Glaflo, a reporter from the NFL Network, revealed that a week ago, the Hawks held an intra-team meeting to discuss how they would respond to this invitation. The owner of the team, Jeffrey Laurie, finally decided to respect the players' opinions and only sent less than ten players including the Super Bowl MVP Falls to attend the event. However, other members of the Hawks team and staff will also travel to Washington for a "team trip", when the team will make sightseeing tours in Washington and visit some lawmakers in Washington.

The fuse of the incident was undoubtedly the "National Anthem Bill" promulgated in the past. Many eagles members expressed their dissatisfaction with this policy in an interview. Malcolm - Jenkins said: "The league's approach is undoubtedly infringed on the players' right to express themselves, and blocked the players' voices of social injustice."

Among the protesters of the Hawks, the most fierce rhetoric is undoubtedly the former Hawks receiver Tori Smith, who expressed his dissatisfaction after Trump released the news.

He first stated that Trump's statement had many lies and he provided several "facts": 1. There are not many players who want to accept the invitation; 2. The national anthem bill is not the only reason to reject the invitation; 3. The president is spreading the player. We have disrespectful information about soldiers.

In the next push of Terry, Smith added: "Many players in the team have different views on this matter. Trump should give the Hawks who want to go on a contract, instead of making an opportunity. Withdraw invitations to such widowers."

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenny soon joined the "battlefield": "National fans will stand behind the Hawks. Everyone likes to show support to the disadvantaged and is willing to see a good game with a weak victory. Staged, I feel extremely proud for the Hawks - whether on the court or off the court, they stick to their beliefs and make outstanding contributions to their community. They prove that we are a diverse country, We can speak for what we believe."

Interestingly, Senator Bob Casey also expressed his support for the Philadelphia Eagles on Twitter and sent an invitation to the officers of the Eagles: “How about coming to the Houses of Parliament?”

However, for now, the team will remain in the training base for team activities tomorrow, including intra-team meetings, strength training and personal exercises. Team head coach Padson may hold a press conference on Wednesday to explain the situation.
